Sharing your faith is not always easy, but remember, Jesus is always there to help.(Skit for five persons: Sarah, Amy, Jeremy, Andy and Narrator.)

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

DURATION:

Approximately 15 minutes

Narrator:

In a school playground, Sarah, Amy, Jeremy and Andy were playing on the swings. They were all swinging really high, and then jumping off. That is, everyone except Amy.

Andy:

Hey Amy, let's see you do a cherry drop.

Jeremy:

Yeah, come on, are you scared?

Sarah:

Don’t let those boys tease you Amy. Come on, I’ll show you how to do it. It’s easy.

Amy:

No thank you.

Jeremy:

She’s a girl alright, she can’t do it!

Andy:

Amy, watch. I’m Superman!

Narrator:

Just then Andy yelled and jumped off the swing, almost flying.

Jeremy:

Me to, I’m Spiderman! Sarah, who are you!

Sarah:

I don’t know. I like Barbie, and she can do a lot of things. Besides, she’s pretty!

Narrator:

The boys started snickering and laughing. Then Amy blurted out…

Amy:

I believe in Jesus! He can do more than anybody!

Jeremy:

Jesus, who is that? Isn’t he illegal?

Andy:

Yeah, my mom said people that talk about him are stupid.

Amy:

I don’t care. Jesus did a lot of miracles. Did Superman do that?

Andy:

Uh huh, he can fly!

Amy:

Superman was an actor. He’s only in the movies.

Jeremy:

Spiderman can climb buildings and fight people who do bad things.

Amy:

Yeah right, wasn’t that a movie too? Jesus is real. The Bible says so, and many people believe in Him, even from a long time ago. So I believe in Him too.

Jeremy:

But a lot of people don’t like him. He’s not popular here at school. You’re not even supposed to mention his name. You’ll get in trouble if you don’t stop talking about him.

Amy:

What is so bad about Jesus? He saved us from our sin, so we can be in Heaven with Him.

Andy:

There is no such thing as heaven, my mom said so.

Jeremy:

Yeah, besides, we like what we have, our toys, our car, and my computer.

Amy:

Do you guys really think those things will make you happy forever? Your toys are already about to bite the dust, and your car is not new anymore, and your computer probably won't be working a year from now.

Sarah:

So what’s so special about heaven Amy? You don’t even know how to get there, unless you’re dead. And what good is heaven if you’re dead?

Amy:

I believe Jesus when he says he’ll take me there. When I die, there is another place for me to wake up in, where everything is wonderful.

Jeremy:

When you die, you die, and that’s it!

Amy:

Oh really, and you like that better, to hope for nothing? Think about it, at least I have something to look forward to. Do you?

Narrator:

Then, suddenly, Amy did her very first cherry drop. And it was a real good one.

Jeremy:

Hey, how did you do that?

Andy:

Yeah! I thought you were afraid.

Amy:

I think Jesus helped me!

Jeremy:

So do it again.

Amy:

No, once is enough. Jesus may have helped me, but I'm sure he doesn't want me doing anything so dangerous.
