Sofia:

Hey Mark! Guess what I did today?

Mark:

Hey Soph! What? What'd ya do today?

Sofia:

I got 100% on all three of my tests! I did so well that I got a prize! No one else got that good of a grade!

Mark:

Wow! Congratulations, Soph! What tests did you..... (cut off by Sofia)

Sofia:

I am one of the best students in the whole school!

Mark:

You're good! What's your grade in.... (cut off by Sofia)

Sofia:

I know, I'm good! But thank you for saying it! I'm good, I'm good, oooh yeah I'm good.

(Ali and Lauren join Sofia and Mark)

Ali:

What's going on? Are you guys celebrating something?

Mark:

Well, kinda. Sofia got 100% on....(cut off by Sofia)

Sofia:

! got a 100% on all my tests! They were so hard too!

Ali:

Wow!

Sofia:

Yeah, WOW!! I AM the best student in the school.

Lauren:

The best? I don't mean to burst your bubble, but aren't there a couple of people who have higher grades...like...(cut off by Sofia)

Sofia:

(sighs loudly) Okay, there are a few people who have better grades, But I still got 100% on all my tests! I am still a very good student!

Mark:

Sofia, we never said you weren't a good student.

Ali:

Can I tell you something, Sofia, as friends?

Sofia:

Well, I guess so, sure.

Ali:

You are being very ...proud!.

Sofia:

Ha! Me! Proud? No I'm not. I'm not being proud! Not at all!

(Mark, Ali and Lauren all give a questioning look at Sofia)

Sofia:

You guys are being proud. Look at the way you're looking at me!

Lauren:

Sofia, do you remember what we learned Sunday...about being humble?

Sofia:

I AM being....humble, I think.

Mark:

Soph, do you remember what our teacher told us about the difference between being proud and being humble?.

Sofia:

No, I can't remember.

Mark:

Being proud is bringing all the attention and glory to yourself...

Ali:

...And being humble is not.

Lauren:

Being humble is giving God the glory and trying not to bring attention to yourself. Doing things that will please God. God is the center of attention...not you!

Sofia:

Well...I guess I was being a little proud.

(Mark, Ali and Lauren laugh)

Mark:

Well you guys, I got to go. I have to study for a test tomorrow.

Ali:

Me too, see you all tomorrow.

(Mark and Ali leave)

Sofia/Lauren:

Bye, see you tomorrow.

Lauren:

You know Sofia, Mark was being humble.

Sofia:

What do you mean? How?

Lauren:

Mark has the highest grades in school.

Sofia:

What? Mark has the highest grades? He didn't say anything about that while I was bragging about being the best!

Lauren:

No he didn't, he is very humble.

Sofia:

(sighs) I want to learn to be humble like him!

Lauren:

He learned to be humble from Jesus!  Well, I'll see you tomorrow Sofia!

Sofia:

Yeah...tomorrow

(Lauren leaves and Sofia is alone)

Sofia:

(looking at the audience) Wow, I really need to learn to be humble, like Mark, and like Jesus! What about you? Do you act like me, or like Mark? Who do you want to act like?
