THANK YOU, FRIEND!
The children will help one another and practice showing thankfulness. by Leah Pittsinger TOPICS: Thankfulness MATERIALS: Retrievable items (such as balls, bean bags, toys, etc.) Two small laundry baskets Timer
DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes PREPARATION: Spread out the items across the playing area.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Time each child as he or she carries a laundry basket and races to place the items inside the basket. About 30 seconds into each player’s turn, allow the player to yell out the name of a classmate who can help. Then the classmate will carry the other basket and help the player retrieve the remaining items. Encourage the first player to thank the classmate by either giving a high-five, hand shake, or a hug. Application: Things are easier when we have help! Paul in the bible was thankful for the Philippian believers because they partnered with him by sharing the gospel. Also, while Paul was in prison, the Philippians continued serving God. Paul showed his thankfulness by praying and writing a letter. We can also show thankfulness when others help us!
