TRUST CHECK LIST
The children will think critically about why we can trust God. by Leah Pittsinger TOPICS: Trust, God’s Power, Faith MATERIALS: Activity page [pdf] Click here Pencil DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes
PREPARATION: Print the handouts. Place a handout and a pencil at each child’s place. Consider completing a handout for yourself to help with the application portion of the activity.
WHAT YOU WILL DO: As the children arrive, introduce the activity and ask them to choose a seat and begin completing the handout. Help the children identify reasons for their answers and even make suggestions as necessary.
Application: You may have never really thought about the reasons you trust your parents, teachers, or even God, but it’s important to remember our experiences and what the Bible says so we can continue to trust God even when something bad happens. For example, there was a man in the Bible named Job who lost almost everything and everyone in his life, but He didn’t forget that God was still in control. Job trusted God to continue taking care of him and God showed up in a BIG way. So, whenever it’s hard to trust God, we can remember Job’s example and remind ourselves that God is more powerful, wise, and loving than we could ever imagine. And we can rely on Him!
