课前准备

课前，用钻头在每根手工棒的一端钻一个直径约为1/8英寸的小孔。
将丝带剪成12英寸长，每个孩子一根。
上课时，将鸟食倒入碗中，并为每个孩子准备一根手工棒、一根丝带和一把塑料刀

做：

Consider the Birds

A craft to show how God provides for those He loves in special ways.

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

Bag of BirdseedLarge jar of peanut butter*Large craft sticks**RibbonPlastic knives, bowl andplastic lunch bags

DURATION:

Approximately 15 minutes

PREPARATION:

Before class, drill a hole, (about 1/8 inch in diameter) through one end of each craft stick. Cut ribbons into 12-inch lengths, one for each child. During class, pour the birdseed into the bowl, and give one craft stick, ribbon and plastic knife to each child.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Each child will take one craft stick and a piece of ribbon, and fasten the ribbon through the hole on the end of the craft stick. Then they will take a plastic knife and spread peanut butter generously all over the craft stick. Finally, they will roll the peanut butter covered craft stick into the birdseed. Place each finished craft into a plastic bag for safekeeping until getting home. At home, the kids can hang their craft on a tree limb using the ribbon, making a very nice treat for the birds.

As the children are making their bird feeder, share the following thoughts and verse. God provides for all of His creation in many different ways. This time God is using each of you to help bring food to his dear birds. And the birds will love these treats. However, we are much more valuable than birds to God. So how much more will he take care of us? Because He loves us so much, and cares so much for us, we should remember to give Him thanks all the time. The Bible says, "Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" (Matthew 6:26)

*Make sure no one is allergic to peanuts. If so you can substitute shortening.*
