说明

按顺序为每个孩子的杯子装上大约三分之二的盆栽土。
向孩子们演示如何轻轻地将向日葵种子压入土中，深度为1到2英寸。
最后，为每个孩子的杯子加些水，以帮助种子开始生长（如果可能的话，可以在这一周内再为种子浇水一到两次）。

Planting Prayers

Sunflower seeds, styrofoam cupsPermanent marker, potting soilSmall gardening spadeWater, table clothPaper towels/wet wipes

DURATION:

Approximately 15 minutes

PREPARATION:

Place the table cloth on the table. Set a cup and two sunflower seeds at each child’s place. Write each child’s name on his or her cup with the permanent marker.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Go around the table and fill each child’s cup approximately two-thirds full with the potting soil. Then show the class how to gently push the sunflower seeds one to two inches under the soil. Lastly, add some water to each child’s cup so the seeds will begin to grow (if possible, try to water the seeds one or two more times during the week). Place the plants in front of a window to receive sunlight.

Application:How long do you think it will take these sunflower seeds to grow? When we come back to class each week, we are going to view their progress to see if they grow into beautiful flowers. And these seeds are like our prayers – sometimes we don’t see the evidence of our prayers for quite some time. As we watch the seeds grow, we will learn to be patient and to persevere with our prayer requests because we know that God always answers our prayers!
