RAINBOW WRITE REVIEW
A colorful way of repetitively writing a Bible verse that aids visual learners and helps students successfully memorize a verse. by Lauren Shelnutt TOPICS: Just for Fun, Memory/Review MATERIALS: Colored pencils or crayons Lined notebook paper (one sheet per child) Whiteboard
DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes
PREPARATION: Write the Bible verse on the classroom whiteboard. Pass out crayons and paper to the students.
WHAT YOU WILL SAY: Let's look up our Bible verse and read it all together as a class. Okay, lets say it again two more times. Wow, great job. Now, I want you to practice rainbow tracing your Bible verse. This is a lot of fun! Take your sheet of notebook paper and choose your first color crayon. Now, carefully copy today’s Bible verse from the whiteboard onto your own paper. Now that you are finished with that, trace over each letter of our verse with a different color, and quietly say the words to yourself as your trace. When you finish with your second color, trace it with a third color. Finally, trace it with one more color. Now, you have a lovely verse written in many beautiful colors.
