活动方式:在白板上写下这节经文,带孩子们大声朗读。然后,大家围坐在桌边,由老师说出一到两个单词后,将球滚向一个孩子,该孩子再接着说出几个单词,再将球滚向另一个孩子。如此反复,直到完整地背诵经文。如果时间允许,可以重复练习。

MEMORY WORK (12 minutes)
“But I, by Your great love, can come into your house; in reverence I bow down toward Your holy temple.” Psalm 5:7 NIV
Write the verse on the white board and read it out loud to the class. Then, while sitting at a table with the class, say one or two words of the verse and then roll a ball to a child. Then he or she will say a few more words and roll the ball to another child. Continue the activity until the verse is complete and repeat the activity if time allows.
SCRIPTURE READING AND DISCUSSION (15 minutes)
Introduction:Last week we learned that we can talk to God through prayer, and Jesus even gave us an example on how to pray. Today we will talk about the importance of honoring God through prayer and look at a Psalm written by King David as an example of showing respect to God when we pray.
Read Luke 11:1-2, Psalm 5:1-7 (Prayer show respect to God.)
Discussion Questions:
1. How does Jesus describe God in His prayer? (“Hallowed,” or holy.)
2. Why is this name respectful? (Because it identifies God’s sinless nature.)
3. Why does David pray? (Because he is sad and needs God’s help.)
4. How does David show respect to God? (By describing His reliability, holiness, and power.)
5. What does David expect God will do with his prayer requests? (Answer them!)
6. Why does David trust that God will answer his prayer? (Because David is praying in humility and with respect.)
7. How is it even possible for us to speak with God through prayer? (Because of His great love!)
Conclusion:
Jesus and King David both gave us examples of honoring God when we pray. We do this by first approaching Him with humility and respect. Another way we honor God through prayer is by praising His qualities (such as holiness/perfect nature, power, wisdom, great love, etc). And we can expect God to answer our prayers because He loves us and sent Jesus to die for our sins.

APPLICATION (4 minutes)
Have a brief discussion with the class on how we show respect to parents, teachers, and other adults (through obedience, kind words, thankfulness, etc). Then ask the class to consider if these are the same ways we show respect, or honor, to God. Help the children understand that while we do have some understanding of showing respect in our earthly relationships, respecting and honoring God means we praise Him with the most humble hearts possible. He is God, and He deserves honor more than anyone else!
