故事(15分钟)

THE PROPHET SAMUEL
LESSON 2: THE LORD CALLS SAMUEL
In this lesson, children learn that God speaks to us today in many different ways. He speaks to us through the Bible, through other people—such as preachers and teachers, and through the wonderful world that He created.

BIBLE VERSE (5 minutes)
"Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening." 1 Samuel 3:9 NIV
Take a moment to explain to the children that God speaks to us in many different ways today. He speaks to us through the Bible, through other people—such as preachers and teachers, and through the wonderful world that He created for us.
BIBLE STORY (15 minutes)
Gather the children around you in preparation for story time. After the introduction, read the story about the Lord calling Samuel right from the Bible. If possible, use a Children's Bible so it will be easier for the kids to understand.
Introduction:Our story today describes how Samuel was eager to serve God with his whole heart from a very young age.
Read 1 Samuel 3:1-10
Discussions Questions:
1. Who did Samuel minister before while he was still just a boy? (The Lord.)
2. What happened as Samuel began to go to sleep for the night? (The Lord called out, "Samuel.")
3. What did Samuel do when he heard his name called? (Answered "Here I am" and ran to Eli.)
4. How many times did this happen before Eli realized it was the Lord calling Samuel? (Three)
5. What did Eli tell Samuel to do the next time the Lord called? (Eli told Samuel to say "Speak Lord, for your servant is listening.")
6. Was Samuel obedient? (Yes, he answered the Lord, just as Eli had instructed)
7. How can we tell when God is speaking to us today? (Allow for discussion.)
Take a moment to explain to the children that we should be obedient just like Samuel, who at a very young age listened to God and followed God with his whole heart.
