故事(15分钟)

GROWING FOR JESUS
LESSON 1: GOD'S LITTLE HELPER
This lesson will help the children understand that they should grow both physically and spiritually so they can help and serve others in need.
TOPICS Caring, Family, Helping, Kindness, Spiritual Growth
AS KIDS ARRIVE (10 minutes) As children arrive ask them to sit on the floor in front of you. Ask them the following questions: 1. What is your favorite toy? Do you take care of it? Why? 2. Would you rather have class in a nice clean room or a dirty junky room? Why? 3. Should we take care of the things God has given us? Why? Next, ask the kids ways in which they can take care of their toys, the church and all of the wonderful things God has given to us.

BIBLE VERSE (5 minutes) "The LORD is with me; he is my helper." Psalm 118:7a NIV Explain to the children that God is with us and helps us in many different ways. We may never know all the ways in which God helps us, but it is comforting to know that our Heavenly Father loves us and helps us each and everyday.
BIBLE STORY (15 minutes) Gather the children around you in preparation for story time. After the introduction, read the scriptures right from the Bible. If possible, use a Children's Bible so it will be easier for the kids to understand. Introduction: God gives each of us special gifts or talents. God gives us these talents to serve others. Today we will see that God wants us to happily help others and not grumble as we work. God will give us the strength we need to complete the jobs He gives us. Read 1 Peter 4:9-11 (Living for God) Discussion Questions: 1. How should we use the gifts and talents God gives us? (To serve others.) 2. Should we grumble or be upset when asked to help? (No.) 3. Does God help us do our jobs? (Yes, He gives us our talents & strength to do the jobs He gives us.) 4. Does God give everyone the same talents or gifts? (While we may have the same gift or talent that someone else has, God makes each of us special in our own way.) 5. Since God made each of us special can anyone else do the job exactly the same way we could? (No.) 6. Why is it important to serve others? (It makes God happy to see us helping others.)

PRAYER/SNACK (10 minutes) Further info? Click here Start by praying to God and thanking Him for His loving kindness and for helping us grow. After prayer time/snack time encourage each of the children to help straighten up the classroom.
CLOSING ACTIVITY (5-10 minutes) As the children wait to be picked up, talk to them about why it's important to do our best, even when no one else is watching. As we grow God will give us many jobs to do, in fact you could say God has "Big Plans" for us if we listen to Him. Go around the room and ask the children what kind of jobs they can do at home or even at church.
