1）让所有孩子排成一排，选一个孩子扮演撒母耳，让撒母耳站在房间的另一侧，背对其他孩子。

2）从其他孩子中选一个拿贴有扫罗的工艺棒，把它藏在身后。给其他孩子每人一个贴有行李的工艺棒，代表扫罗试图躲藏的行李。

3）当所有孩子都将手放在背后时，让撒母耳转身，挑选一个他/她认为可能藏着扫罗的孩子。被选中的孩子走到撒母耳面前，展示他/她拿着的工艺棒。

如果撒母耳选错了，那名孩子就站到撒母耳旁边。
如果撒母耳选对了，他/她就将皇冠戴在扫罗的头上。

4）当扫罗被找到后，换另一个孩子扮演撒母耳，重新开始游戏。

可选：

可以让孩子们一直选，直到找到拿着扫罗的孩子。也可以限制撒母耳的猜测次数。

God Calls You!

In this game, children find Saul as he tries to hide behind some baggage, and learn that bravery means answering the call of God. By Kristy Thornton

MATERIALS:

Copy of Saul and crown Click here

Copies of baggage Click here

Craft sticks, Glue, scissors

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

PREPARATION:

Before class, copy and cut out the pictures of Saul and the crown. Glue Saul to a craft stick. Cut the dotted line on the crown so it can fit over Saul's head. Print one or more copies of the baggage page and cut out each bag. Glue each bag to a craft stick.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Have all the children line up. Choose one child to be Samuel. Have Samuel stand on the opposite side of the room with his or her back turned to the others. Then, choose one student to hold the stick with Saul behind his or her back. Give all the other children a stick with a bag attached to represent the baggage Saul used to hide.

While all the children have their hands behind their backs, have Samuel turn around and select someone he or she believes might be holding Saul. That child then goes up to Samuel and reveals what he or she is holding. If Samuel selects someone who is not holding Saul, that child must continue to stand next to Samuel. If Samuel guesses correctly, he or she gets to put the crown on Saul.

When Saul is revealed, choose another person to be Samuel and start all over.

Optional: You can let the children choose until they find who is holding Saul or you can put a limit on how many guesses they get.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

God chose Saul to be king. He was supposed to come forward to be crowned, but he hid from Samuel. We might be scared to do the jobs God gives us too. Today, we are going to help find Saul and crown him. One student will be Samuel and everyone else will be the baggage Saul tried to hide behind. Only one person will really be holding Saul (show the children what Saul looks like). Everyone should keep their hands behind their backs, until called, to try to trick Samuel.

(Have Samuel chant the following phrase to call each child to come forward.)"God calls you! God calls you! Send (classmate’s name) right over."
