课前，打印活动页。每个孩子至少一张，建议多准备几份备用。

说明

1.做

桌子上放好蜡笔、马克笔和剪刀。给每个孩子至少一张活动页。如果他们的名字超过 6 个字母，则提供第二张活动页。
让孩子们用马克笔在石头上写下自己名字的字母，每个石头上写一个字母。如果有多余的石头，他们可以画上十字架或基督教鱼形符号。
让孩子们自由地给石头涂色，然后剪下每块石头。
孩子们可以打乱自己的石头，然后尝试尽快按正确顺序拼出自己的名字。
活动结束后，让他们把石头收集起来，放入写有自己名字的信封中，以便带回家。

可选：除了纸石头，还可以使用工艺品商店常见的光滑扁石。此方法适合年纪较大的孩子，需要用颜料代替蜡笔进行书写和上色，请预留额外时间。

David Stones

A great activity to complement the story of David and Goliath using personalized stones.

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

DURATION:

Approximately 12 minutes

PREPARATION:

Before class, print out copies of the Activity Page. Each child needs at least one page, and you may want to have a few extra copies on hand.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Place crayons, markers and scissors on the tables. Then give each child at least one Activity Page. If their name has more than 6 letters, then give that child a second Activity Page.

First, have the children write the letters of their name on the stones using one of the markers. Have them write only one letter of their name on each stone. They can draw a cross or Christian fish symbols on any leftover stones. Then have the children color the stones as they like. Finally, have them cut out each stone used.

The children can take their stones and mix them up, and then see how quickly they can spell their name by placing them in the correct order. When finished, have the children gather their stones and place them in an envelope with their name on the front, so they can take them home at the end of class.

Option:Instead of paper stones, you can use actual smooth flat stones, available in most craft stores. Instead of crayons, you will also need to use paint for lettering and coloring. This option is suitable for older children. Please allow extra time.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Who knows the story about David and Goliath? (Allow for children to raise hands) Good, some of you do. Did you know that David killed the mighty giant Goliath with only one small stone, about the size of one of our stones here? He was able to do it because the Power of God was with Him.

David said to the giant, "You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty." 1 Samuel 17:45 NIV

Today, we are to keep these stones as a reminder that God knows us by our name, and He is always with us when we call upon His name. Like David, we need not be afraid, even of giants, because we have an almighty and powerful God. The Bible says, "Great is our Lord and mighty in power" Psalm 147:5 NIV
