课前准备

THE WAY TO THE FATHER

A pop-up craft to show how Jesus is the only way to the Father and to eternal life in Heaven.by Kristy Thornton

PREPARATION:

Before class, print one copy of the pop-up craft page for each child. Cut around the outer solid lines of each page. This will result in a slightly smaller page that can be glued to a piece of construction paper revealing a large border.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Give the children a pop-up craft page and have them color the pictures. If using the pre-colored craft page, you can skip to the next step, or have them use light blue crayons to color in the sky.

Have the children glue their whole page onto a piece of construction page. Center the page so you have borders of near-equal size. Next, help them fold their craft in half at the dotted line in the center of the page. Turn the page over so you can see the picture of Jesus. Then, help each child make two cuts on each side of Jesus following the solid lines. Do not cut any of the dotted lines.

Finally, open the page and fold it the other way with Jesus facing in. Open the top half, and pop Jesus out. Make sure Jesus pops out in front like a pop-up book.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Today we are learning that Jesus is the only way to get to Heaven and the only way to the Father. This craft will help you remember that we can go with confidence to the Father, Pray to Him, ask Him our questions, and get close to Him because Jesus shows us the way.
