THE LORD IS MY ROCK
When finished, this craft will be a reminder that the Lord is our fortress, our deliverer, our shield, and the strength of our salvation.

MATERIALS: Small rock for each child Fine point permanent markers
DURATION: Approximately 10 minutes
PREPARATION:
Each student in class will need a small rock. The rocks will need to be large enough to permit the children to write, "The LORD is my Rock Psalm 18:2."
WHAT YOU WILL DO: Give each of the children one rock and a fine point permanent marker. If you have a limited number of permanent markers ask the students to share.
Next, have the students find Psalm 18:2 in their Bibles. Read the verse together as a class. Instruct each child to write the following portion of the verse on his or her rock:
The LORD is my Rock Psalm 18:2
As the children work on the craft, explain that some people try to depend on their own strength or the things that they have made to protect them, but these things never last very long.
Explain that this stone will be a reminder to them, that the Lord is our fortress, our deliverer, our shield, the strength of our salvation, and the one in whom we can take refuge. It is wise to trust in the Lord because His help lasts forever and cannot be destroyed.
