这是报纸。（打开报纸，展示给孩子们看。）这个世界上有很多报纸。几乎每个城镇都有自己的报纸。许多人花费大量时间收集信息和故事放进报纸上，也有很多人花时间读它们。你家里有人读报纸吗？报纸里可以找到什么内容？（让孩子们回答。）

当然，报纸的一个作用是告诉人们正在发生的事情。我们称之为“新闻”。你明白了吧，报纸的意思就是记录新闻！

有些新闻是好的，而另一些新闻是坏的。不幸的是，今天大多数新闻都不太好。

Where can you find the best news in the world? You can find it in the Bible, of course.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

You will compare a newspaper to a Bible that is full of the Good News of Jesus.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

This is a newspaper. (Open the newspaper and show it to the class.) There are many newspapers in this world. Almost every town and city has one. Many people spend hours and hours gathering information and stories to put in the newspaper. And many people spend hours and hours reading them. Does anyone read a newspaper in your family? What kind of things do you find in a newspaper? (Allow for answers.)

Of course, one of the reasons to have a newspaper is to tell people about what is going on. We call this “news.” Get it newspaper!

Some news is good, and other news is bad. Unfortunately, today most of the news is not too good.

The Bible is not a newspaper, but it does have news, good news! (Open the Bible and show it to the class.) In the Bible, you can find the good news of Jesus. You can read how Jesus is the Son of God and how He came to earth to live with us. Then He died on a cross to save us from our sins. This may seem like bad news, but the story does not end there. We read further that Jesus rose on the third day, and now He is alive with the Father in Heaven. He is there preparing a place for us.

God is so wonderful. He cares so much for us He sent His Son, Jesus to save us, so we can be with Him in Heaven. Jesus is our Lord. That is real great news!
