将所有小物件准备好放在袋子里，确保孩子们看不到里面是什么。把空盒子放在你旁边，置于房间中央，让所有孩子围坐在你周围。孩子们将首先看到盒子是空的，然后你会逐一加入小物件，每添加一个物件，孩子们都会感谢神。

2.说

Be Grateful for What God Gives You

The children show their thankfulness as they realize how our loving Father gives us all that we need.

TOPICS:

MATERIALS:

Box, Bag,

Little objects:

(house, toy car, bed, food, clothes, CD, cross, little people for parents, siblings, grandparents, friends, etc.)

DURATION:

Approximately 10 minutes

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Have all of the little objects ready in a bag where the kids won’t be able to tell what is inside. Put the empty box next to you in the middle of the room and have all of the kids sit around you. The children will first see that the box is empty, but then you will fill it with the small objects. After adding each object, the children will give thanks to God.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Children, I want to ask you to guess what is in the box. Can anyone tell me with certainty what we will find in it? (Give the children time to guess.)

Now, I want you to think of things that God has given you that you are grateful for. Take a few minutes to think about it and then we will open the box. (As they are thinking, encourage them to also think of the basic things that God gives us on a daily basis.)

Okay, tell me a few things that you thought of. (Allow time for everyone to say one thing.)

Now, I am going to open the box, but first, we have a choice. We can thank God for all of the things we have said or we can just keep on going with our lives without acknowledging that God is the one who gives us EVERYTHING we have and need. Okay, let's open it.

(As you open the box, you can let the children come closer to the box to see what is inside, they will probably wonder why it is empty and then you can explain that our lives could be like this empty box.)

God could have chosen not to give us all of the things we have, and life would be so hard, but He did not. Instead, He gave us what we need because He loves us and wants us to be happy. Let's give thanks for the things God's gives us.

(Start putting in the little objects one at a time and as you place them in the box, the children can say for example, “thank you God for my house”, “thank you God for my music”, etc. This will give the children a chance to see what they have been given and how we need to always thank God for the things He gives us, even though they seem so small and meaningless. Hopefully the children will see the full box and remember that God has given us more than we need but He does so because He loves us and we should thank Him every day.)
