GOD SPEAKS IN MANY WAYS

Approximately 15 minutes

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Before class, print one copy of the picture page for each child. During class, the students will circle the pictures on the picture page that correspond to the different ways parents speak to them, and then compare these to the ways God speaks to His children.

WHAT YOU WILL SAY:

Your parents communicate to you in many different ways. As we talk about each way your parents speak to you, I want you to find the picture that matches best and circle it. Then, we will decide if God speaks to us in the same way. (Make sure everyone has found and circled the correct picture before moving on to the next example below.)

HOW PARENTS SPEAK:	HOW GOD SPEAKS:
By talking	God talks to us through the Holy Spirit, in our mind. He can use other people to talk to us too.
By whispering	God will say things to us gently through the Holy Spirit, or from a caring believer.
By yelling	God will yell your name through the Holy Spirit to get your attention. When this happens, you need to pay attention.
Through gifts	God loves us so much; He gives us gifts and blessing of all kinds.
With letters	God gives us His Word, the Bible, to read and learn about Him.
With phone calls	Prayer is like calling God. When you pray, you are talking with God.
Through love	God's love speaks to us when we think about how Jesus gave up His life for us on the cross.

God is always talking to us. It is our job to stop and listen to see what God is saying.
